Intuition PRINTs
For centuries humans have experimented with different printing techniques. I continue this tradition through the use of a hacked desktop printer. This new printer is mobile and allows me to draw, while printing an image. Each composition is created by human intuition rather than calculated mechanical movement, and as a result each print is distinct.
I use the computer to compose an image. Once the image is composed, I press print and send the file to the printer. As the printer begins moving, so do I. The composition I created on the computer is rearranged as I move the printer back and forth over surface of the paper. The whole process takes only a minute or two so there is little time to think and calculate. I react using intuition and spontaneity.
